ZN Dermatology is a boutique cosmetic, laser, and surgical dermatology practice in Houston’s Galleria / Uptown area.
We are seeking an exceptional Medical / Surgical Assistant to join our founding team.
Medical / Surgical Assistant
This role is ideal for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and polished medical assistant who wants to be part of building a refined, physician-led dermatology practice from the ground up. The ideal candidate is not simply looking for a routine medical assistant position. We are looking for someone with strong clinical judgment, excellent organization, polished patient communication, and the ability to support both patient care and selected administrative operations.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent clinical training
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical medical setting
- Experience in surgical assisting, Mohs surgery, or medical/cosmetic dermatology highly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with cosmetic, laser, surgical dermatology, and Mohs-related patient care
- Preparing patients, rooms, instruments, and procedure areas
- Supporting biopsies, excisions, surgical procedures, and wound care
- Assisting with patient intake, photography, documentation, and follow-up coordination
- Helping maintain an organized, polished, and high-quality clinic environment
- Supporting selected administrative tasks, practice workflows, scheduling, patient communication, inventory, and vendor coordination
- Helping create an exceptional patient experience from first contact through follow-up
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is:
- Highly professional, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Experienced in dermatology, Mohs surgery, plastic surgery, aesthetics, or a similar procedural setting
- Comfortable in a boutique, high-touch patient care environment
- Excellent with patients and strong in communication
- Organized, proactive, and able to anticipate needs
- Interested in growing with the practice
- Comfortable assisting with both clinical and administrative responsibilities
- Committed to quality, discretion, and professionalism
